Grammar Hi, there I know you can say, “That is exactly/precisely/specifically what we were talking about” But what if I want to reverse the order of this sentence? Should I say “We were precisely/exactly/specifically talking ABOUT that” or “We were talking precisely/exactly/specifically ABOUT that” or “We were talking ABOUT precisely/exactly/specifically that”? Should the adverb come before or after “about”? Thank you

Hi Hernandez, The only adverb that sounds natural before about is “specifically”. And after about, “precisely” and “exactly” sound natural. So these are correct: “We were specifically talking about that.” “We were talking specifically about that.” And these are correct: “We were talking about precisely that.” “We were talking about exactly that.”
