You can have both options and choices, but you generally makes choices, not options. For example:
1. You have many options
2. You have many choices
3. You have to make a choice (you wouldn't say "you have to make an option")
4. The girl has many options and needs to make a choice

This is a case of a very common situation in English. This is a pair of synonyms, one from Old English, one from Latin. Checking a dictionary, I find, as I expected, that:
"To choose" is derived from the Middle English "chesen," from Old English "cēosan"
"To opt" is from the French "opter," from Old French, from Latin "optāre."
In situations like this, the Old English-derived word is usually the everyday word, while the Latin-derived word is usually more formal, or technical, or dignified.
A newspaper headline about fashion suggests "Opt for cosy, neutral knits and slinky satins for your next big comfy night in." It could just as well have said "Choose cosy, neutral knits and slinky satins for your next big comfy night in."
Another newspaper article, about Dunkin' Donuts, a chain of coffee shops, asks "Dunkin' Donuts recently made headlines when they launched a breakfast sandwich featuring [a vegan sausage substitute]... if you're visiting a Dunkin' Donuts...what other vegan options are available?"
It could just as well ask, "what other vegan choices are available?" There would be no difference in meaning.
