"I yell." Asking for a friend...
How does one say, "I yell"? For example, "I yell at my kids." Which...who does that? Savages. And how do you say, "I'm yelling." "I'm yelling at my kids." Which, trust me, is hard to do while you're typing...

Ich schreie. - I yell.
Ich schreie gerade. - I am yelling. Though I can't think of a situation when one would use that.
Ich schreie meine Kinder an. - I yell at my kids.
Ich schreie gerade/jetzt meine Kinder an. - I am yelling at my kids. Though I can't think of a situation when one would use that.
But: Ich esse gerade. I am eating. A friend calls and asks: What are you doing? then you would answer like that.
Then there are other words for 'to yell', such as brüllen. Ich brülle meine Kinder an.

I would say ”Ich schreie” but that also means “I scream”.
