What can I say instead of standstill? What I can I say instead of saying "come to a standstill" ? Coronavirus make the world come to a standstill. And is it true usage?

You could say "halt," but I think "standstill" is better. I would also phrase it in the past tense: Coronavirus has brought the world to a standstill. Coronavirus has made the world come to a standstill.

You can also say "Cornavirus brought the world to an impasse." (from the French word "passer") But I like Lena's synonym much better! This one is not as common and might be better written rather than spoken.
