A compound sentence contains two independent clauses joined by a coordinator. The coordinators are as follows: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so. Therefore, the last sentence is not correct: 'Both using cell phone and playing computer for a long time is bad for health.' It is a simple sentence (also called an independent clause) that contains a subject and a verb and expresses a complete thought: 'Using the cell phone and playing the computer is bad...'.
