It is usually used to indicate boredom. Another way of expressing this is 'having cabin fever'.

Hello Heba,
"to climb the wall" is an idiom meaning to be very agitated, anxious, bored, or excited.
Example:
" I was climbing the wall to get back to work"
Here it means 'I was excited'
" He waited for him 2 hours, then he began to climb the wall."
Here it means he began to be agitated and bored.

I have always heard it used meaning a person has too much energy and they need to use some of it.
For example, "My kids are climbing the walls so I am going to take them to the park and let them run around for awhile."
