The letters mean 26 letters in the alphabet.When I said ET went away ,I just took it as assume. not reality.

I heard recently that ET on his way back mounting  the UFO took a chocolate bar of MARS with him .
So accordingly and according to your assumptions Karen, we are left with 17 letters .
Can we still manage to communicate ?!? ;)

I'm not sure. But I think ET didn't write any letters. He only wanted to use the telephone making some calls home.

There will not be any letters left for us to read. Because they never did exist.
