Definition of 시청하다.
Does 시청하다 mean "to watch" or "to join"?
I'm confused. Please also include some sample sentences.
Thanks!

usually "시청하다" means "to watch (something) on TV", and this expression is often found in news or newspapers.
in spoken Korean, "보다" is more common, and "시청하다" sounds old-fashioned for me.
as for the other media except TV like DVD,movies,
"보다" is often used instead of "시청하다".

Enclosed please kindly locate a webpage showing the explanations of 시청[視聽] 하다 = to watch and listen.
http://www.google.co.kr/dictionary?langpair=ko|en&q=%EC%8B%9C%EC%B2%AD%ED%95%98%EB%8B%A4
A very typical example would be,
텔레비전을 시청하다 = to watch television
내가 지난 밤에 텔레비전을 시청했어요. = I watched television last night.
In my personal point of view, the verb can be extended to any media in which one can watch and listen simultaneously, such as DVD (디브이디), movie (영화), theatre (극장), etc.
Good weekend. / 좋은 주말을.
