"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." According to: http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/English_proverbs This has no Chinese origin, can anyone confirm this?

Yes, it's strange - Lao Tzu and/or Confucius apparently said this, but I can't find a single quote in the original Chinese. Problem is, if a quote sounds wise or "zen" enough, it usually gets credited to the wrong person.

it's the literally translation because it hasn't sense this way, the correct form in english would be: give a fish to a man

As far as I know, it's a proverb, but I have no idea where it comes from.

It is better to teach a man how to fish than to give him fish.Maybe that's meaning of the proverb.
