Hey Eric,
The most common usage is in fishing. It's fishing with a line while moving slowly in a boat.
It's also used on the internet when someone posts harrasing or antagonizing comments on a forum or bulletin board, ususally with the purpose of making people mad or to get attention.
It can also mean "to sing with a full voice", but I've never heard it used that way except in older poetry or literature.

On the Internet, "trolling" describe people typically on internet forums. That person is called a "troll". These people make many rude posts because they can get away with it.
The term comes from a popular children's story of "Three Bill Goats Gruff". In the story, three goats try to cross a bridge, one at a time. A Troll lives under the bridge, ready to eat anyone who passes the bridge.
So like the story, the people on the internet hide their identity behind the computer and show themselves in forums ready to make rude remarks. They are like the Troll in the story, and turning the noun "Troll" into a verb, we get "Trolling"
