When can we use "study" as "studies"?I mean when it refers to learning.
e.gHe has made great progress in his English studies.

Studies is the plural form of the noun "study" in this case. If you study more than once, you can refer to those as your studies. Also, you may study more than one subject and refer to it in the same way.
Note that "study" and "studies" can also be verbs, but in your example "studies" is a noun.
