Hi there. You cannot changed tense. So 1a and 2a etc are I correct. ..
If he has free time, he draws pictures. Etc.

Karen meant "So 1a and 2a etc are incorrect." It was a typo.

And yes, she's right.
The only correct ones are: 1b and 2b.
