The food that I loved is a kind of street food in Shandong. We usually call it
煎饼果子.The only thing I could think of it might be similar to is French crepes. However, crepes taste sweeter than煎饼果子, which taste (or “are”) salty or spicy. The difference between them is the filling. The Shandong type of crepe is so big that we can put various kinds of food in it such as chicken, sausage, corn and so on. But the necessary ingredient for the filling must be a slice of crispy brittle (what is this?) and some lettuce which give 煎饼果子its rich taste. Every cook has his own recipe for the special sauce brushed on the surface of the “crepe”. Then you can add different seasonings according to your own taste. I prefer to have a spicy one. This kind of street food is easy to make so many people often buy it in the morning as (or “for”) breakfast.
