Here in Japan, A birthday is a celebration day; I think it's the same as in most countries worldwide. We celebrate the day with a birthday cake, a special gift, and a family gathering. We usually get together and have a little party at dinnertime to celebrate. Of course, birthday meals are particular versions for that day, and there are a lot of happy decorations on the wall. After dinner, we prepare a birthday cake with candles, turn off the room light, and sing "Happy Birthday to You." Lastly, we have a cake and give the birthday person a memorable gift. Since we're in the pandemic, sometimes it isn't easy to meet my family, who lives far away from where I live. I think birthdays are lovely and memorable events. My mom's birthday is at the beginning of January. So I wish I could celebrate my parent's birthday if I can go to my parent's house in the following new year's holidays.

I definitely love how you started by stating that birthdays in Japan are just like birthdays all around the world. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 - 'normalcy' has come to a sudden halt. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I love it!
