Trava-lĂnguas (tongue twisters) are playful sentences full of similar sounds â perfect to practice your pronunciation and fluency! Theyâre fun, a little tricky, and a great way to improve your Portuguese.
đ Here are some examples to try:
đž O rato roeu a roupa do rei de Roma.
(The rat gnawed the king of Romeâs clothes.)
đž TrĂȘs pratos de trigo para trĂȘs tigres tristes.
(Three plates of wheat for three sad tigers.)
đž Sabia que o sabiĂĄ sabia assobiar? Quem sabia que o sabiĂĄ sabia assobiar?

âš Try saying them slowly, then a little faster! It's a great way to train your mouth and ear for Portuguese sounds.
