Test your English vocabulary It is important to have a plan for learning vocabulary. I will give some advice. Linguists have used computers to find out the most common words used in English. They have made word lists which are based on sets. The first 1000 most common word-families in English make up 75% of all English texts. If a word is used many times in English, then it is called a high-frequency word. You should study high-frequency words as your first goal. If a word is used often , then it is called a Mid-Frequency word. Intermediate learners will be working to build up their knowledge of mid-frequency words. If a word is not used often, then it is called a Low-Frequency word. These should be studied last. Something to Do ------------------------ Test your English vocabulary. Visit this FREE website, and do the vocabulary test. This Website was made my professors who are studying about vocabulary learning. http://my.vocabularysize.com/ The test is free and will take about 40 minutes. Don't worry some of the words are very difficult and some of them are very easy. Try and find out how many word-families you know. You can find out how many 'word families' you know. If you know less than 2000 word families, you should focus on studying the words in the first 2000 word families. You can then choose graded readers which are suited to your vocabulary level. You can tell your English teacher what your vocabulary level is so he/she can prepare lessons for you.

電話で"Hello I just received a call from your number" は丁寧日本語でなんといいますか? 電話相手知らないとき、 私は 「すみません、あなたの電話番号から、私の携帯に電話したんですが。。。 と言いました。 それはスムーズな日本語じゃないと感じました!
