Teaching (and language learning) is who I am. In university, many of my friends were international students. I took pride in my ability to adapt my English to the appropriate level as they progressed. I was learning German, and this really helped me see things from their perspective. Now I am well-known in the Esperanto community - a regular teacher-in-residence at NASK and other events. In 1988 I became a tutor in a Free Esperanto Course (which I now administer), and when I left my IT career in 2016, I started teaching once a week at the local ESOL Association, as well as tutoring on line and in person. Teaching different languages in these situations has given me a unique perspective.

Más de 17 años de experiencia I never thought that teaching could be the right job for me, but - here I am - seventeen years and around a thousand of students later. At some point, I realised that teaching had become a passion. My professional experience before italki was focused mainly on exam preparation both in English (e.g. Cambridge, Trinity) and German (Goethe Institut, telc) and included - apart from the usual group and individual, intensive and regular courses - level-testing and organising mock exams. For several years, I also worked as an English examiner and corrector at one of the universities in Spain. I hold a C2 Certificate in Spanish (DELE).

Languages are my passion! 4 years of teaching experience and I still love it Since I’ve got to know a lot of people that are learning German I saw what problems people face with this language and tried to find solutions for them. With my love for the language I am excited to improve your German skills too! I would describe myself as a friendly and patient teacher. I am able to adapt my style of teaching to your needs and speed. I want to encourage you to speak confidently. Please note that I am currently not taking complete beginners. I want to help you gaining more speaking experience and solve any issues you have with the German language! I believe that the most effective and fast way to learn a language is to speak with native speakers.

Since 2010, I have been teaching German and English offline, and since 2016, I have also gained experience teaching online. Lately, I have primarily been offering individual lessons as well as small group classes of up to three students online. I find this format to be both efficient and meaningful.
