Hej! My name is Maria, trevligt att träffas!
I am 29 years old and currently live in Göteborg, Sweden, but have previously lived in several different countries and I spent most of my adulthood travelling around the world. I work as a teacher at an upper secondary school.
My educational background includes a BSc in physical geography, MSc in environmental science as well as a MA in upper secondary education. I enjoy discussing a wide range of topics such as travel, history, environment, sociology, culture and politics. Hoppas vi ses! :)Minha atuação como professor
I am an enthusiastic and patient teacher that takes their job seriously. I believe that it is important to always do your job properly, no matter what your job is, so I will never show up unprepared or appear unengaged during a lesson 🙂
Being a native speaker, I have a good ear for the differences between spoken and written Swedish, so I can help you clear any doubts that you might have, as well as give you suggestions on how to phrase your sentences to sound like a native. I also have good knowledge of the structure of the Swedish language and can help you with any questions related to grammar, syntax or semantics and explain it to you in a clear and comprehensible manner.Minhas aulas e estilo de ensino
In a conversation lesson I will take into account your current abilities and adjust the pace and complexity of the conversation to match your level. We can either chat informally with no particular lesson plan, or focus on a topic or material that you'd like to discuss (in which case I can suggest some materials for you). I will let you know beforehand what topic the lesson will focus on, so that you have time to prepare in order to get the most out of the lesson.
If you prefer a structured lesson, we can discuss beforehand any specific materials you'd like to use and prioritize addressing any particular language gaps you may have. Don't worry if you're a beginner, we all start somewhere!Meu material de ensino

Maria is a very dedicated and passionate teacher. I realized she could adapt her teaching style to my needs quickly. In terms of providing suitable materials, she is very resourceful. During our conversations, she is very sharp, writing words and phrases I can read and work on later. Maria has amazing etymological knowledge, leading to a faster and more effective language understanding. Maria is also very intellectual, and conversing with her is quite rewarding. Last but not least, she is very professional.

Maria is an amazing tutor! As I teacher myself I can see that she is very devoted to helping her students learn Swedish. She is also very passionate about teaching. I really appreciate that she prepares lessons specifically for me which means she listens and cares about my needs and preferences. Maria is super friendly, easy-going but professional and very patient as well. Looking forward to having many more lessons with her!

I have nothing but positive things to say about Maria! She's been very calm, patient, and talkative. She asks the right questions, is an attentive listener and really makes you feel comfortable and capable, no matter your Swedish level.
She also gave me some detailed and helpful feedback, and this encouraged me even further to keep practicing, which is indicative of a teacher's quality.

If you're looking to learn Swedish, please look no further. I had my trial lesson with Maria and can tell you, she's a rare gem here on Italki. Everything you'd want in a tutor, she's got it. I mean, from her empathy to her enthusiasm, honesty, patience, and so much more.

Jag hade en bra lektionen med Maria som vanligt. I dag hon har hjälpte mig att kolla min texten som jag skrev på svenska. Jag ockso övade att anvenda Preteritum och Supinum.

First lesson with Maria went very well! She helped me set up some of my learning goals and was very encouraging. She knows how to moderate her language level so that I could understand her and she clearly explained or repeated when I needed help.
