Chiyoko is so fun and easy to talk to! I look forward to my lessons with her and I always feel like I learn so much each time.

ちよこさんと話す時間にはいつも興味深い話題を回っています。役に立つ言葉や表現をまとめていただいてありがとうございます。 Chiyoko is a great teacher who naturally guides conversation with helpful pointers along the way. I've really enjoyed talking with her about cultural topics, current events, and everything in between.

I recently passed the JLPT N1, and I feel that my conversations with 千代子さん really helped. I studied on my own, using the 新完全マスター series of books. I did five practice exams. I listened to the NHKジャーナル daily. I subscribed to the 朝日新聞 and made an effort to read at least one article a day. I also had weekly conversations with 千代子さん, discussing everything from politics and society to personal interests. When I had a question about a sentence in a book or a word or paragraph in an article, 千代子さん was extremely helpful. She spoke at my level, and over time, I found that words I had previously studied would naturally come up in conversation. If you want to get your N1 certificate, you have to study on your own. No one can make up for the effort and energy required to pass at that level. But if, on top of your studies, you include weekly lessons with 千代子さん, you will find yourself having delightful discussions that reinforce what you have learned.

I’ve been taking lessons with Chiyoko sensei for the past several months, mainly for conversation practice, and have really enjoyed our sessions. We discuss a wide range of topics, from politics and fitness to everyday life, so the conversations are always engaging. She also consistently provides feedback after every lesson, which is something not all iTalki teachers do. I highly recommend Chiyoko sensei whether you’re just starting to learn Japanese or are an advanced learner. ちよこ先生、いつもありがとうございます！！
