I'm a native British English speaker from England, I speak fluent English and I'm also half Chinese. English was my favourite subject at school and I have also always been interested in learning other languages such as Spanish. I am currently learning Mandarin and Cantonese and wish to become trilingual! 加油!

Everyone's language learning journey is unique and everyone learns at a different pace. Whether you just want to improve your skills for visiting on holiday or need to pass an exam to study abroad or just refresh what you already know; I can help!
I will always encourage you to speak English as much as possible and make sure you understand the "why" and "how" behind a grammar rule or a phrase. It's easy to memorise a word, but when you don't understand the meaning behind it, that's when it can get confusing.Minhas aulas e estilo de ensino
I am very passionate in helping others and feel that this naturally overspills in my approach in teaching and the methods I use. I love to empower and motivate others!
Although, I am a TEFL qualified teacher, I also like to use different methods of teaching in my lessons from how I have been taught, what has worked for me personally in language learning, what helped improve grammar, vocabulary and increased my confidence, practise pronunciation, writing, speaking and reading, as well as making sure I tailor the lesson to the student's needs.

English TeacherWhilst I was studying on my TEFL courses, I offered free English lessons to gain some teaching experience in return for testimonials per lesson. I am really pleased to say that this experience was so rewarding and in a short period of time I helped my students learn a lot and improve their confidence in English and my confidence in teaching.
2017 - 2020
English Teacher (Language Exchange)I joined this app in October 2017 to help improve my Mandarin. I also helped a lot of people with their English in Language exchange.
Sometimes, I would just book a call for them for 1 to 2 hours to help with pronunciation, vocab, preparation for College entrance exam, practising daily conversation etc and make this a weekly lesson.
2021 - 2021
English Teacher (Language Exchange)I wanted to join another Language exchange app and was told that this was a good one with more people that were serious to learn.
I had weekly lessons with a few people that needed help with practising pronounciation, spelling, vocab, confidence in speaking, practise in daily conversation, particular topics as well as culture.

La profesora fue muy amable, sus dinámicas muy entretenidas y daban pie a un montón de conversación y discusión, lo cual es muy positivo y era algo que necesitaba, practicar mi Speaking. Me hubiera gustado que durara más, pero sí, fue una muy buena clase :)

She is the best teacher, very conscientious and responsible! She creates an exclusive study plan for her students and is very patient in guiding you on pronunciation, grammar, word usage and much more. Choose her as your teacher and your English will improve by leaps and bounds!

The half-hour lesson is both fun and helpful. Cherene is a patient teacher and a good listener. She will raise an interesting topic and make notes while I’m talking. After the talking she will correct my mistake and give practical advice based on what I just said.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first English lesson with Cherene. She was well prepared for the lesson and made sure it was tailored to my needs - she's well equipped to teach absolute beginners through to more proficient speakers like myself. It was a great grammar refresher as I hadn't realized I overlooked so many grammar rules prior to the lesson. She is also well informed on both American and British English which is a plus. To top it all off, her interactive approach to teaching made the lesson easy to digest, memorable, and fun! Highly recommend and would definitely book another lesson with her. Thank you, Cherene!
