Welcome to my teacher profile! I'm a 31-year-old native speaker from Brighton in the UK. I'd love to welcome you to a Topic Discussion for a relaxed chat about any topic you like :)
I'm CELTA qualified and I have 10 years of teaching experience. Most of this time I have been working one-to-one with students like you on italki. I've also taught on summer camps and in English schools in Oxford in the UK, and for 2 years in China, delivering lessons to students of all ages including beginner, intermediate and advanced students.
I love to spend time outside in the sun, wind, and rain, I like to keep healthy and energetic by practicing sports and martial arts, and I love learning new things.Minha atuação como professor
In our classes we will explore topics and language functions which are interesting and useful to you, and I will use a lexical approach to teach you new language by focusing on its meaning in context. I will help you practice listening and reading strategies to allow you to communicate about any topic, whatever your current level of English.
I'm very passionate about my own learning, and I am interested in how learning is changing in the 21st century. It is important to learn how to study effectively by yourself, so as your teacher I will coach you to become a better learner and I will provide you with useful resources, websites and apps to help you study more efficiently.Minhas aulas e estilo de ensino
My teaching style is all about having fun; if you aren't enjoying your classes, then you probably aren't learning very much! I enjoy the interesting conversations I have with my students, and I take a personal interest in helping you improve so that you can communicate more correctly, confidently, and fluently in English.
I believe that careful lesson planning is a very important part of teaching so you can trust me to always provide the most interesting and relevant teaching materials that challenge you, help you to improve, and encourage you to express your own thoughts and opinions.

A very knowledgeable teacher, gives lots of examples of the vocabulary I’m interested in. He has an eye for tiny differences between advanced speaking and AUTHENTIC advanced speaking.

For two years I have been meeting with Michael weekly and each shared session is a unique experience. Its ability to correct and process information makes the classes very fluid with all the corrections recorded so that they can be worked on later. I recommend Michael to anyone who wants to take their level of English to a higher level, his method is unique!!!

Michael is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He prepares every lesson carefully and discusses topics from different angles in class, always giving me plenty of chances to speak. Each lesson is well-organized, with structured expression practice, everyday language exercises, and conversation practice. I've noticed a big improvement in my speaking skills.
