Hi! I'm Haley, a TEFL certified English teacher from Maine, USA.
I view language learning as a wonderful tool that helps people to connect with others. I specialize in helping learners refine their accents, boost fluency, and gain confidence. My background in the studies of Anthropology, French, and International Affairs helps me effectively work with students to bridge cultures through language.
I have plenty of experience teaching English, beginning with tutoring French students in English in France in 2020. I also helped high school students improve their English in Spain for 2 years, working for the Comunidad de Madrid Ministry of Education.
Through my 120 hour TEFL certification course, I learned the best and most effective techniques to teach English as a foreign language.
As a language learner myself, I understand how difficult it can be to learn a new language. I would love to play a supportive role in helping you reach your language goals by providing a positive, judgement free learning environment.
My lessons are tailored to fit each student’s needs, whether you're just starting to learn English, or you've already achieved near fluency. Our first lesson will be used to get to know each other, and for me to learn about your language goals. From there, we will determine what kind of lessons will be the most helpful for you. In class, I present English grammar and vocabulary to students through fun games and activities and talk to students in English to help them gain confidence and competence in speaking and understanding English as spoken by a native speaker.
