I’m a retired teacher. I taught elementary students for 38 years which allowed me to be equipped with the necessary skills to teach Japanese in a fun and enjoyable manner.
After retirement, I studied to become a Japanese teacher because I like talking with people.
I like traveling and I have been to several countries. I’ve been to many places in Japan so I am knowledgeable about a lot of tourist destinations.
During my free time, I play table tennis once a week. Furthermore, I have played the ukulele for over 15 years. After the pandemic I want to perform some songs while playing the ukulele in parties.
I’m really looking forward to talking to people from various countries.Minha atuação como professor
I am currently a licensed Japanese teacher. But I want to gain various experiences as a community tutor in italki.
During our lessons, I use several Japanese textbooks.
For example; Minna no Nihongo, GENKI, FUN&EASY, TOBIRA, IRODORI(Web), and JLPT.
I can respond as much as possible to the needs of learners from beginners to advanced.

Lessons will be conducted in Japanese. If we can’t communicate well, I can use the English language for any explanations and clarifications. For this reason, I continue to study the English language.

Mai-san is my teacher for more than a year now, and I have been learning a lot! I feel I can construct sentences and start discussion topics confidently now and, working on my vocabulary as well, I think I am really progressing. Our talks are always enjoyable and interesting! Thank you, Sensei!!

It was another lovely, truly enjoyable lesson today! We talked about my neighborhood and its people that love to go out in the sun whenever possible, had an interesting chat about Sakura Season throughout Japan. We ended our lesson with a great, but quite harsh, Japanese story called GonGitsune. Thank you very much, Sensei!

Today, we had an excellent conversation once more! We talked about my future plans and Sensei thought me a lot of new phrases and expressions that had to do with starting a new business, leaving an old occupation, founding an office etc. Thank you so much, Sensei <3 !
