Hi! I’m Alyona — a Ukrainian teacher, translator, and certified English teacher with a Bachelor’s in Philology. I’m now pursuing a Master’s in Ukrainian Language and Literature. I help learners of all levels master Ukrainian — whether you’re starting from scratch or want to speak more confidently. I’ll be honest: I love grammar and believe it’s the key to speaking clearly, but lessons are never just about rules. We’ll practice speaking, listening, and real-life phrases you can actually use. The more connections and curiosity you feel, the easier it is to learn and retain new material. I believe in creating a relaxed, supportive environment where language learning feels natural, not forced. 😊 I tailor my teaching to each student because everyone learns differently. Some prefer reading, others learn best visually or through interaction. I always take time to understand what works best for you and adjust lessons accordingly. I love using fun, engaging methods like games, quizzes, and matching activities to keep lessons lively and effective. Most importantly, I create a supportive and relaxed environment where you feel comfortable making mistakes and growing your skills at your own pace.

Somehow we had an IT problem getting connected at the beginning, but once we started, we had a very productive class updating our lives and working on my essay. She generously extended the class for the time we lost at the beginning :)

Another great lesson with Alyona. She has a good understanding of my current level of ability, and more confidence in me than currently I have in myself - the sign of a good teacher. As always I have come away from this lesson feeling that I have made some progress. Very happy.

As always, we first enjoyed updating our lives. When we moved to working on my essay, she stayed calm and gracious, patient even with my logistical and content-wise mistakes. A person without patience would have definitely gotten irritated!

First we enjoyed talking about her dog's photos I asked her to send and his namesake. Then we exchanged our opinions on the Victory Parade at the Red Square yesterday. It would have been limitless if we kept talking. Alyona is such a great instructor that she was writing down vocabularies at the same time😀
