FAQ:
1) WHAT KIND OF TEACHER ARE YOU? 🤔
Students often say "Sensei is nice "BUT""... 「やさしいんです が。。。
きびしい - straight , 個性的 - unique styles , 推動力 - motivative , 早い - fast in solution , 頭がいい - smart , バランスが取れてる - Balance in Class & HW, 強く知識や文化の交換を感じる - Strong interactions in Culture and Intellectual Exchange , クラスの後疲れる、楽しく思い出す - feel tried and fun after class.」と言ってるよ!
2) HOW LONG TO TAKE TO BE FLUENT in Japanese?
- Language takes time to master. Frequently focused sessions leads to far better results than sporadic study without direction. For example, studying 2 hours a week yields much more progress than 1 hour. I'll guide you through both self-study and one-on-one approaches!
Minhas aulas e estilo de ensino
🥹 Many beginners struggle with:
1. Learning Kana or Kanji
2. Wanting an easy start or just for fun
3. Too much grammar at once
4. Poor listening skills
5. Poor speaking skills
You’re in the right place! We can always adjust the learning order to fit your needs:
1. Start easy
2. Learn Kana spelling with Romaji (English letters) for grammar
3. A Technique to manage remembering vocabulary
4. A Technique to manage forgettable vocab
3. Listen and watch to learn in Class, Reading and Writing on your own.
4. Copy, Speak, and Remember
5. Start with Anime-Style Japanese (Short/ Casual Forms: 食べる) instead of (Long-Forms: 食べます)
9. Learn Kana, Kanji, JLPT, etc., as needed on your own pace. 🈁

I continue to have a great experience with this Sensei, rather than sticking strictly to any book we've focused more on conversational, modern Japanese, which I strongly prefer. We use a variety of methods to supplement Genki, including YouTube videos and Podcasts, which has been a great asset in getting a natural feel for the language to my end-goal of conversing easily with Japanese relatives. Really happy with my progress so far after a few months!

We covered lots in the past few sessions. I speak, according to Sensei "street Japanese" so already have a small base to work from, but with so many errors.
So we're making fix-ups. re-reviewing genki 1 and 2, with a little more care and focus.
over 3 sessions we've covered Transitive and intransitive verbs, conjugation them and (using を and が), そうです and といていました (i heard that). Also covered そうです (it seems like).
Present, past, present negative and past negative tense were covered too.
Also managed to touch on verbs for playing music and wearing clothes.
And this was just a little bit of work we've done based off a test we did after the first class 💥

As we enter more complex grammar, Natsuko sensei always has material to introduce new concepts and reinforce previously studied concepts.

I have been taking private lessons with Natsuko Sensei for about a year. She teaches in a modern style without heavy reliance on books. She teaches vocabulary in Romaji (English alphabet), which means that I haven’t had to learn Hiragana or Katakana. Learning this way lets you focus on the vocabulary and grammar, which is ideal when learning conversational Japanese. Overall I have enjoyed every lesson as Natsuko Sensei is easy to talk to and very intelligent. Hontoni Arigatou Gozimasu!

Another excellent lesson with Shie-sensei. We listened to podcasts together on YouTube, and Sensei thoughtfully selected ones that perfectly matched my current level. She highlighted new vocabulary throughout, all of which was practical and relevant to my studies. We also discussed what summer is like in Japan, which was a great cultural insight and helped broaden my understanding of life in other parts of the world.
