Hello, dear language learners!
My name is Juan and I am a native English speaker from Boston, Massachusetts, USA. After receiving my TESOL certification in 2020, I have been teaching English for the past four years and I have been loving every moment of it.
I love to learn languages - my strongest second language is Spanish (believe it or not I am not a native speaker!) and now I am learning Italian for my wife's family :)
I really enjoy hiking in nature, traveling to different countries, playing board games and video games, and reading books about history.Minha atuação como professor
I have over four years of professional English teaching experience. I began my career teaching English online for one year with Gabonese students through the US Embassy in Libreville, Gabon. I have also taught online on other language-learning websites as well and I currently teach English both on iTalki and for another company in Spain.
I am professional, energetic, and totally engaged and invested in the learning journey of my students. It is very important for me to create high-quality lessons that make me feel proud of my work and help my students achieve their desired results with English. Minhas aulas e estilo de ensino
My teaching methodology is designed with one person in mind - you, the student. I like to use several methodologies that bring out the greatest results in my students. In conversational classes, I use the direct method (full English immersion) so that students get to practice speaking the language and practice listening to it. My goal for conversational classes is to have my students speak for over 50% of the class time since this greatly increases your confidence and ability to speak English.
My grammatical classes focus a lot on grammar - but not so much that it is boring. I make sure to provide diverse activities and speaking exercises to keep the class both challenging and entertaining!Meu material de ensino

I have never been as actively engaged in learning as I am with Juan. We practice grammar and speaking, and everything is very dynamic and useful. There is a lot of diverse material, and the teacher carefully listens to me and corrects when necessary. The balance between speaking practice and useful information is excellent. I am very satisfied with the teacher.

Juan is a great tutor. He was very prepared and I liked the way he conducted the class and adjusted to my needs. His vast knowledge, engaging teaching style, and personalized approach made the lesson enjoyable and productive. The conversation was really fun and I didn't notice when it was over. I enjoyed it a lot and look forward to our next lesson! Highly recommended!

Juan Antonio is a great teacher, and his classes are well organized, balancing grammar, vocabulary, listening, and speaking. He focused on pattern drills that help me automate the use of many grammar elements .

Ha sido mi primera lección con Juan y lo recomiendo al 100% como profesor. Ha sabido adaptar la clase a mi nivel y a mis necesidades como estudiante. Durante la lección hemos visto vocabulario, pronunciación, gramática, ... y me he sentido muy cómodo con las actividades de conversación que ha planteado. Es muy paciente y cuando no entiendes algo busca la manera más sencilla de explicártelo. Siento que voy a mejorar rápidamente mi nivel.

I had several lessons with Juan, and I really enjoyed all of them. He is always prepared for the class, having an interesting topic to discuss and a new vocab to learn. I think his thoughtful and encouraging approach to teaching can really do the trick for me in the long run. I'm already starting to feel the progress. On top of that, Juan seems like an open-minded person with quite extensive knowledge in various fields. It should be easy for anyone to find a common ground with him. I'm looking forward to our next classes.
