Hello!
I’m Vanessa from Montreal, Canada :)
I’ve been teaching on italki since 2014 and have been blessed with kind and wonderful students from all over the world!
It’s my pleasure to connect with you and help you achieve your language goals. It brings me joy to hear students get their dream job and feel more confident in the language they’re learning because of their newly acquired language skills!
I speak fluent french, english and spanish and I am learning portuguese. When I'm not teaching I may be studying ceramics or practicing the skill of working with clay. I am also passionate about permaculture, sustainability, feminism, art, and human rights.Minha atuação como professor
Feeling comfortable is key to learning! I do my best to create a safe and nice atmosphere so we can learn together through conversation and laughter.
This is not your traditional language class! This is a one-on-one experience, designed to make you feel at ease and grow your confidence in your target language as you improve your language skills! I use visual cues and focus on communication so you can start using what you've learned right away!Minhas aulas e estilo de ensino
My classes are different depending on each student, their level and their interests. I do my part to keep you motivated by finding information that interests you and that caters to your language goals.
I give homework based on what we covered in class (reading, podcasts, exercises, videos, songs, writing etc.).
I recommend additional tools to expose you as much to the language as possible and to reach fluency faster.
I am patient as I am a slow learner myself with personal experience in learning new languages.
I use ZOOM and google docs.
*I have a strict 24h cancellation policy. I will wait for you for 15minutes, after that I consider you a no-show and I charge for the class*Meu material de ensino

Today’s lesson was terrific. After our initial trial, I felt more at ease speaking with Vanessa. I really like how she keeps track and shares new things we’ve learned and where I made mistakes. I said that I wanted to learn more about Faire, and after class, she updated the doc with many helpful links. I have been going through them and my next lesson, I will be prepared to better use this word!

Thank you for this lesson. It was not super easy for me but Vanessa did her best to make all things clear to me. She gives you a lot of synonims for one word so you can learn 5 words instead of 1. I hope the lessons with Vanessa will help me to improve my French quickly. Vanessa is a really good teacher.

Vanessa is a teacher focused on her students' needs and the best learning methods. Always punctual and willing to help, she offers interesting and easy-to-understand materials. She provides feedback and corrections when necessary in a gentle and friendly manner. Her classes are very light, engaging, and relaxed. She is a teacher with a wealth of resources (texts, images, music, videos), knowledge, and a teaching style that makes us want to learn even more about the language.

I've had five classes with Vanessa. She's a very nice and supportive teacher. Her lessons are interesting, really helpful. She taught me many new words, correct grammar and helped me to improve my writing skill. I'm glad to meet with the teacher.
