Julie is an excellent teacher. She really understands the language and how to teach it effectively. I have been studying French long enough that I am familiar with many expressions, and when I read or hear them I understand them immediately, but when I speak, I am often unable to recall them. Julie knows the expression I'm looking for, tells me what it is and gives examples, and this really helps me to remember it. Over the time I've been learning with Julie, I've made great progress, and I feel I'm speaking with much more ease than when we started. In addition, Julie is a really kind and thoughtful person. When I choose teachers on italki, I like to go with my gut, and I'm really glad I did so in this case.

Julie continues to be a helpful, wonderful teacher. I appreciate the conversation in French we have in the first half of our lesson, and the grammar exercises we have in the second half. I feel comfortable speaking with her and making mistakes because she provides useful feedback without breaking the flow of the conversation. I'm thankful for my time with Julie every time.

It was another very enjoyable lesson with Julie! For some reason the italki classroom wasn't working for our session so we couldn't connect through the video. However, Julie was flexible and accommodating and was available for 15 minutes longer to make up for the time we lost trying to connect to each other. The lesson itself was productive but easy-going, and I definitely feel like I'm keeping up with my French with Julie!

I've been taking weekly lessons with Julie for a while now and feel that my speaking ability has really improved over this time. I enjoy our conversations and learn new words and expressions each time. Julie is a very kind and patient person. She has a deep understanding of the language, and that makes her a very effective teacher.

For this session, I had to reschedule at the last minute, and Julie was understanding and flexible in doing so. I enjoyed our conversation again and appreciated her positive way of correcting my errors!

I truly enjoy working with Julie - the lesson hour passes by too quickly! The conversation we have in the first half of the class lets me practice my speaking skills, and the second half allows me to focus on grammar with exercises that Julie provides. It's a perfect combination and I'm really happy that I can keep up my French in this way. Julie is very flexible in her style and has plenty of ideas for lesson materials.
