Super easy to talk to. Very understanding and non-judgmental!

Max is a competent and qualified teacher, as well as an all around very pleasant person to chat with. He's been through the whole process of teaching himself Japanese and can explain very well what works and what doesn't, what's the best way to practice and what to avoid so you can reach your Japanese learning goals. Highly recommended.

Sensei Maxfield is a great teacher! Super fun lessons and each time I build more confidence to speak and explore my skill level. I always learn something new! He explains grammar in a relatable way and explores fun content to make the time enjoyable! I always look forward to practicing my Japanese with him.

Max is a great teacher... he is patient, kind and knowledgeable. I am 65 and he adapted well to some of the technical challenges I encountered. I highly recommend him to Japanese learners of all ages.

I have take a few classes with other iTalki teachers (and they were excellent) but I really connected with Max and his approach to getting me further down the path to Japanese literacy and to being more comfortable with Japanese output. I look forward to working with him this summer prior to my 6-week trip to Japan in the fall!
