HIGHLY recommend Aya-sensei - she is truly a rare GEM! I've taken over 30 lessons with her so far and she is by FAR the most caring, patient, and diligent Japanese instructor I've ever had! From the very first lesson I had with her, she always makes sure that she is supporting my Japanese language goals in the most effective way possible that suits me. I love talking to Aya-sensei and feel so lucky to have her as my Japanese teacher!

Aya-sensei, the legend! I started out with Aya-sensei for her Japanese explanations and patience through basic conversations and essays I would do for homework. Over time, I can see the progress and impact Aya-sensei has on my Japanese, as well as my confidence that grew alongside with it. Aya-sensei gives me the flexibility and creativity to choose my own learning. Whenever I request to try out a new exercise (perhaps some grammar practice, or just today, starting out a mini-review of vocab per lesson), Aya-sensei always does her best to give out resources and her help! It's this type of support and consistency that makes my Japanese journey so much more enjoyable. Thank you so much Aya-sensei!

Huge thanks to Aya-sensei for the lesson! Even though I had some sudden constraints, she was incredibly understanding and kind. Not only did she tailor the lesson exactly to my needs, but she even gave me over 15 minutes of extra time to make sure I understood everything. I’m so grateful for her generosity. The lesson was both fun and productive—I’d highly recommend her to anyone, from absolute beginners to advanced learners who, like me, struggle with their speaking and output skills! I'm really looking forward to our next session.

Aya-sensei continues to provide effective Japanese lessons that are engaging and fun! As a heritage Japanese learner (spoke Japanese as a child but lost my confidence and most of my ability to speak it as an adult), Aya-sensei adapts to my abilities while keeping me challenged. My growth is due to her teaching methods, insights about Japan, and just being a delightful person.
