Study Greek with a PhD scholar!Aspire to become Greek citizen?Begin your amazing Greek journey now! My name is Effie (Ευτυχία), meaning “Happiness,” and I bring joy to learning Greek! I am a Greek teacher with an MA in Education, a PhD (c) in Ionian University, and 16 years of teaching experience in Greece and New York. I teach Greek from A1 to C2 with personalized lessons designed around each student’s goals, needs, and pace. As Head of Studies at a Greek-American NPO, I love sharing Greek language, history, and culture. Let’s begin a joyful journey into Greek together! I have 16 years of teaching experience in New York and in Greece, teaching Greek as a first and as a second language. I can teach Greek (A1-C2 level) depending on my students needs. Of course every student is different so I make sure to provide a customized program for everyone wanting to learn greek, specified to your needs, while moving at your pace. My subject expertise is: modern Greek and Greek history, not just the basic history that is written in handbooks, but from the “inside” history. My methodology is based on Constructivism which is the notion that people actively construct their own knowledge, and that reality is determined by your experiences as a learner. The major concept is that my students use their previously learned knowledge as a foundation and build on it with new things that they learn.
