Naru🇯🇵

Today we were talking about breakfast and coffee in Japan, and how some things are different there than in the UK. I was surprised when I ordered coffee in Japan and they asked me if I wanted it hot or cold. We were also looking at the instructions the coffee machines in Japanese convenience stores have, they are so complicated! We also talked about visiting shrines during the evening, as they are not as busy as during the day. I am intending to go back to Gotokuji Temple in Setagaya to bring back the lucky cat I bought there last year! As usual, I feel there's quite a bit of work to do with my Japanese conversation skills, but I feel I can remember new grammar structures and I am using them a bit more often. Today we were talking about the weather in Japan and the UK, and also about shops in Japan. I got to use some of the new grammar I have learned, though I still have to remember the difference between ちいさい and みじかい 😅. Still, another great lesson. Thank you, Naru Sensei 😁.

Today we reviewed transitive and intransitive verbs, which, in Japanese, go in pairs! Memorising these is hard, as in Spanish we just use a reflexive pronoun to change the verb, but the concept itself is not hard to understand. Naru Sensei provided plenty of examples and we did lots of practice to help with it. Thank you 😊.

Today we were talking about healthcare, going to the dentist, and university fees. I found using the right form of the verbs a bit easier today, though it's still hard when you don't know enough vocabulary. But I felt more confident speaking and could string a few sentences together. Thank you, Naru Sensei 😁

Today we were talking about a few topics: food and drink in the UK and Japan, a bit about the weather, and even had the time to introduce a bit of grammar. I still struggle to use the correct verb forms in sentences, but I find it easier when I stop thinking about grammar and just focus on speaking. Thank you 😊.
