Pia from Stockholm

I've been taking conversation lessons with Pia for over three weeks now, and I’m very happy with the progress and results so far. Her method is excellent for loosening your tongue and giving you the chance to practice everyday Swedish, not just what is taught in textbooks.

Tack så mycket för all hjälp och allt stöd du har gett mig under våra lektioner Pia! Det var väldigt värdefullt för mig att vi inte bara gjorde språkövningar, utan också kunde dela tankar om livet. Du har alltid varit väldigt stöttande. Våra diskussioner och texter om närvaro i nuet var också mycket inspirerande. Jag kan knappt tro att min svenska har blivit så flytande tack vare våra lektioner! Jag rekommenderar henne varmt till alla som vill lära sig svenska i en avslappnad och trygg miljö!

She was very flexible about what we wanted to talk about and we ask questions back and forth with each other to practice talking about different topics.

After more than 30 lessons, I am confident to say Pia is one of the best teachers I have met. I came into these lessons being scared of criticism. Pia does it such a way, It doesn’t feel like criticism. Even my Swedish family/friends have said I have improved significantly fast & have gained much confidence with my words. Pia has made learning feel fun. Every lesson is tailored to previous things we’ve discussed or something she thinks I would find interesting. Something i’ve always looked for in a tutor is for it to just feel like i’m at home; like we’re just chatting. Pia does exactly that, and often we turn lessons my lessons into a chat about our lives and experiences. (which I am confident is what gave me better fluency!) Pia really feels like family and I have never been so impressed with myself and the confidence she’s helped me gain with my swedish comprehension and speaking. If you are looking for a new teacher, I highly recommend Pia. 🫶

We used some materials provided to talk about certain topics of interest. It makes the class enjoyable because you’re talking about interesting things and it helps keep the conversation flowing to practice your communication skills in different ways.

Pia is a wonderful Swedish teacher. I have learned so much from her. She prepares a different topic every week, really pays attention to what I need in order to improve my Swedish and is a wonderful person to talk to and learn from! Absolute recommendation!!
