MAKIKO

Good and fun practice as always :) We continue learning about Japanese customs and traditions through reading, which has been very interesting, since about some of them I've never heard before. Then we also usually do a couple exercises from the textbook. I like making sentences and chat in simple Japanese. Japanese doesn't feel scary anymore. :D

We've had fun reading about Japanese traditions related to New Year, it's a good way to practice reading while learning more about the culture at the same time. Also we did pair work exercises from the Genki textbook. Thank you, Maki-san, and see you at the next lesson. :)

Over Christmas I felt like I was hitting a plateau, but actually now I think I got back on track. Maki-san is a teacher who is going to support you even when you feel like you're failing, until you break through. I will continue my learning with Maki-san in 2026. We set N3 as a goal for this year, so actually in hindsight, during the 3-4 months I've studied with Maki-san I've made quite a progress since at this point N3 seems quite achievable. :)

Today's lesson was so fun, I feel motivated and encouraged. After half a year of lessons with Maki-san and self-study, I am getting to a point when a simple conversation/reacting to what the other person is saying is not so mortifying anymore and starts to feel more natural, to a point when we can even make some small inside jokes in Japanese. :D Thank you and see you soon, Maki-san :)

It was another brilliant lesson!!! I am learning a lot with Makiko san. She is always encourages to be creative and learn new vocabulary. She is the best teacher to learn Japanese!!!!!!!!!!!
