I’m a native Japanese tutor with 14 years of teaching experience! 💁‍♀️ I was born and raised in Tokyo, and I’ve also lived in Sendai and Nagoya. Now I live on the West Coast of the U.S. I like animals, photography, health, food, sewing, YouTube, Netflix, video games, and riding e-scooters. I tutored at a community college in the U.S. for 8 years. I also assisted in a Japanese class and led a conversation group. Since the pandemic, I’ve taught Japanese privately to learners in their 20s to 70s. Helping Japanese classes in the U.S. led me to become a tutor. Seeing students work hard inspired me to support them using my strengths. Many of my students continue with me for months or years. I create relaxed, supportive lessons that are easy to continue. In my lessons, I focus on “level + 1” content that fits each student. Not too easy, not too hard — just the right challenge. My motto is fun and practical! Mistakes are welcome. Let’s talk a lot and learn natural Japanese! 😊

Her class is truly a hidden gem! I was very nervous before the lesson, but she asked many easy-to-answer questions and gave me plenty of chances to speak. She was patient, encouraging, and made me feel completely relaxed. I truly appreciated her teaching style and her caring personality toward her students.
