Absolutely amazing teacher! I enjoy the lessons so much and find Shiota very supportive. He gives so much encouragement which for me is very important to build my confidence. Even after my taster lesson, I had a lot of material to study which was great, and I felt super ready to start my next lesson. I would recommend Shiota to anyone wanting to learn Japanese.

I love my lessons with Shiota-Sensei! He has customised the lessons around my specific interests (board games and craft beer!) and makes the lessons very fun! He keeps in touch in between lessons with information relating to the topics we discussed. It feels like I'm just chatting with a good friend. I have been learning Japanese through apps and online tools and videos, and this is the first time working with a tutor. I'm finding it very helpful to learn more about how to have conversations. ありがとうございます

Thank you for our discussion of AI and smartphones for kids Shiota san, your patience and encouragement when teaching Japanese inspires me to keep learning. It was wonderful hearing about your favorite movies as well, I'm glad we have so many interests in common!

Shiota Sensei provided a really fun lesson and he knows when to keep me on my toes! He has a good sense of humour and provides really helpful structures to the lessons. He is also very generous with his time and contact during the week too! Once again - Thank-you Shiota Sensei!!

Shiota Sensei is preparing me to be confident in being able to communicate in Japanese when I travel there for the first time. He knows what skills I need to work on and encourages me to work hard in a fun and engaging manner! Thank-you Shiota Sensei!!
