I teach Business English and General English, with a focus on improving fluency and building confidence. I also understand technical language. In UK I worked for a Swiss manufacturer of scientific instrumentation for process control, in their export department. I moved to Australia and joined the computer industry where I worked for two American manufacturers of UNIX computers. I was their Southern Region manager for Australia. I was quite successful and became an international business consultant for a number of years. In 2002 I also qualified as an English Teacher and moved to China. I've been teaching ESL face-to-face for 20 years and online, since 2019.Minha atuação como professor
In 2001 I passed my CELTA teaching certificate and moved to China in 2002. Since then I’ve been living in Guangdong working as a business consultant and teacher of General English and Business English. Since 2015 I have focused on Business English, General English, Job Interview preparation and career coaching lessons for students who are looking at changing their job or trying to achieve a promotion. The lessons are valuable for anyone looking to improve fluency and confidence. I've been an online teacher with iTalki since December 2019. Improving fluency and confidence in General English and Business English can be achieved with a simple formula. But it’s not easy. It requires four things: knowledge and hard work, listening and speaking. The knowledge required is knowing what to practice. The hard work is practice, practice, practice and listening to and speaking English every day. That’s why it’s not easy. The student can only be advised of what he or she is doing wrong by a teacher. My style is to demonstrate solutions to students' problems so that they are practicing the right things.
