My daughter won first for the Americas at the Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition held in Kunming, China. Thank you Patrick for all the hard work and patience you've put in over the years teaching her and her brothers.

I booked a trial lesson with Patrick and shared my goals and targets with him. He was very supportive and showed me a few useful things. He also helped me with a small pronunciation exercise, which was really nice. I've decided to choose him as my teacher for the coming months—and hopefully, years. I'm looking forward to learning. I just had my second class, and we keep making great progress. He's very good at grasping my level and doesn't overexplain things I just needed to be reminded of. He notices when I do need a real explanation. We talked about my day, where I would like to travel, and the things I'm currently doing. The 45 minutes went by so fast. I didn’t even realize it!

Over seven months, I worked with Patrick almost every week to supplement intensive Chinese language courses. We didn’t use a specific textbook. Instead, we mostly had work-specific conversations focused on my job requirements. Classes with Patrick offered two special benefits: 1. He very ably identified my level of speaking ability, making his speech speed and vocabulary level understandable while still challenging me to do more. Having worked with dozens of language teachers, I know this is a very rare and valuable skill. 2. He has charisma that makes talking with him engaging while covering a wide variety of subjects, including work-related topics. Hour-long courses definitely flew by. I really enjoyed my time working with Patrick, and I think our classes will contribute to my ability to live and work in China in the near future.

Patrick has been an amazing teacher to help me grow my speaking and listening skills. He's very patient and organized. He has listened to my goals and crafted ways to help me continually improve over the past 5 months. Would recommend him to anyone that is looking to improve their Mandarin.

I just had my first class and felt really comfortable throughout. I appreciated the pace, it was just right for me. We spoke in Chinese whenever possible, and whenever I didn’t catch a word, he wrote it down to include in a document he’ll send me afterward. He used vocabulary that was appropriate for my level, which kept me from feeling either overwhelmed or underwhelmed. The sound and video quality were excellent. He also took the time to talk with me about how I started learning Chinese and what my goals are, so we can plan the structure of future classes together. I really appreciated the personalized approach. I’ll definitely book more classes with him.
