Hi everyone who wants to learn Japanese! こんにちは😃 My name is Mika Mccalley. I majored in English and American literature and education when I was in college in Japan. I qualify as a junior high and high school English teacher and Japanese language teacher. I came to the U.S. In 2007 from Sendai city, Miyagi prefecture. I lived in GA for 4 years, 6 months in Florida, moved to Brazil lived there for a year, went back to Japan Tokyo, and then finally came back to Arizona, the U.S. Yes, I moved a lot but all was good. I love traveling around the country, a cat lover, I have 4 cats 🐯 I have high communication skills, open-minded and enthusiastic but very patient and disciplined 😉 I’ve been teaching Japanese since I came to the U.S. In 2007. I am a certified Japanese language educator with 17years of experience. I have taught over 100 students of different age groups, from preschool students to adults, and different levels of students from beginners to advanced levels. Mika-san was very friendly and patient with me. While I'm advanced in listening and reading, I haven't spoken much and frequently trip up or struggle to express myself. I hope to get better at speaking and I think meeting with Mika-san to chat casually will be helpful in my journey. I definitely recommend her as a tutor!

We went over my goals and what we should plan on studying during lesson time. Mika was very helpful, speaks clearly, gives examples and small practice exercises, and is very nice. I am looking forward to taking more lessons :)
