Hi, I’m Nick.
I’m an English language teacher with over 20 years’ experience, specialising in IELTS speaking preparation. I’ve worked with a wide range of learners, helping them improve the clarity and effectiveness of their spoken English.
I’m a former IELTS speaking examiner, and I’ve worked for organisations including the British Council, International House, and the University of Sheffield. I also hold a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics, as well as CELTA and DELTA qualifications.
Alongside teaching, I create a free IELTS podcast where I share practical insights into common problems and how to approach the test more effectively.Minha atuação como professor
In lessons, I take a clear and focused approach, helping you improve your speaking in a practical way.
We work with IELTS-style questions so you can practise responding naturally. As you speak, I make notes on your language, your ideas, and how you develop your answers. We then go through this together, with clear and straightforward feedback on what to improve.

Spoken English (Intermediate to Advanced)

I'm taking a proofreading class in which Nick and I go through my MA essay. Nick is helpful. He not only fixes my errors, but he also revises my sentences for clarity and formality, and raises questions to encourage me to think critically. He is the best EAP tutor you may ever have. I’ve been learning with Nick for a while, and I really enjoy his lessons.
He creates a relaxed and comfortable environment, which makes it easy to speak and practice without pressure.
He’s also very good at giving natural corrections and helping me express myself more clearly.
