I love literature, theatre, cinema, music, comics, sculpture, painting, acting, dancing, cooking, travelling, but also science, medicine, nutrition, fitness, ecology, nature, psychology, anthropology, sociology… I love being outdoors and spending time in nature, which, for me, is a sacred place. I lived in the States for seven years and I fell in love with its parks. I like creativity, hanging out with friends, going for long walks, being active and social. In my opinion, slow hiking/ trekking and dancing are the perfect sports. I love acting because you get to live lots of lives and experiences in your life and there are lots of drama techniques that can be applied to teaching.Minha atuação como professor
I have a background in Translation and Philology at the University of Granada. I taught Spanish as a second language in the States for seven years and also in Spain up to present. I have 20 years of teaching experience (since 1998) and I started teaching online in 2017. While I was in the United States teaching Spanish I also studied a Master’s Degree in the Teaching of Foreign Language and Literatures, and a Ph D in Applied Linguistics in the Acquisition of Spanish as a Second Language. I have several papers published on the topic of the pedagogy of Spanish and I have been granted four Teaching Excellence Awards based on students' evaluations and performance. I teach Spanish at all levels, from absolute beginner to mastery level. Lessons can be general Spanish, Spanish for professions, and Spanish for DELE exams. My lessons are completely customized for each individual student according to their current level, goals and interests. My classes and materials are clear, very visual and communicative. Grammar is presented through graphs, images, comics, videos… that illustrate what language means and how it can be reapplied in different contexts. Apart from the online classes, students will receive all sorts of materials and activities to support their learning. This was my first lesson with Carmen. I appreciated that she was very thorough in explaining the structure of her lessons.
