I am a pretty reserved person by nature and have an office job. I enjoy helping people and I think that teaching is a great way to encounter great people!
I’m pretty friendly and enjoy playing video games, reading, working out, and traveling around the world with my partner.
I initially didn’t know much about italki and my wife talked me into it. I am glad I joined!

Ryosuke was very good at fixing and explaining the errors in my speech and grammar. He gave examples how a native Japanese speaker would say in any given situation which was really helpful. Now I just have to tackle the Kansai dialect next! Thank you for the lesson!

Fun as always - simulated situations like loosing one's wallet or smartphone in Japan & how to get help by others. See you next week!

It was a really nice session with Oota sensei. He really know what to do for the first lessons and found out on which level I am. The things he said was really helpful and interesting for the first session. Thank you very much Oota sensei.

Ryosuke changed his notes, which where previously handwritten, to Google Docs.
With this method, we chatted the first 20-30 mins while Ryosuke wrote down what I said. In the last 30min, Ryosuke and I went through my saying and he corrected both grammatical mistakes, the wrong or weird usage of words and guided me to a more native way of speaking Japanese.
Even though I already liked the lessons how they've been before, this new style is even more effective in my opinion. It helps me a lot to go through my sentences in detail and to reflect on: "What did I want to say" and "How would a Japanese express this?"
Really recommend this kind of lesson to anyone, who does not only want to speak Japanese without mistakes, but also in a natural way!
