Translator & Language Enthusiast – Conversational Slovak with a Native Speaker Hi everyone, my name is Linda and I’m from Slovakia. I studied International Relations in Prague and later completed my Master’s in Translation at the University of Bristol. Today, I work as a translator and interpreter. Slovak is my native language but I am lucky to come from a generation that considers Czech as their native language too, and I’m also fluent in English, French, and Spanish. Right now, I’m learning Arabic — also through iTalki — so I understand very well what it feels like to be in your shoes as a learner. I see myself less as a traditional teacher and more as a conversation partner and guide. Because I work as a translator and speak several languages myself, I know how tricky it can be to move from understanding a language to actually speaking it fluently. My lessons are relaxed, friendly, and focused on real communication. I enjoy tailoring conversations to your interests — whether that’s travel, culture, food, current events, or everyday situations. My lessons focus on conversational Slovak — building on the basics you already have and helping you feel confident when speaking. Think of the lessons as chatting with your new Slovak friend, who’s there to guide you, correct little mistakes, and share natural phrases so you sound more like a native.
