Hello, everyone! I am Elena. I am from Guangzhou, a city in south China.
My Chinese name is Jiaxian; I am a native speaker of Mandarin and Cantonese.

When I was in New Zealand for a working holiday a few years ago, I realized that learning their language is always the best way to know more about different cultures. As usual, we started off by talking about our day and weekend, which gave me lots of opportunities to practice my discussion. Then we moved on to the reading materials, and she would ask questions regarding their topics, which gave me more opportunities to practice speaking. Her teaching approach is great!

We reviewed the lesson from last week as well as new material on the same topic. Was very thorough in explaining things I wasn't sure of. She also asked my questions to back up what we just talked about, and went through exercises.
