As a PhD linguist specializing in bilingual and multilingual acquisition, I am passionate about teaching Brazilian Portuguese. My academic background includes a PhD in Linguistics from UFC - Brazil, focusing on language acquisition in bilingual contexts. I also hold a master's in Linguistics from UFPB - Brazil and a postgraduate specialization in teaching foreign languages. For any level, I am SUPER patient, outgoing and excited about my students at class time. I am very committed to teaching so that my students really learn, notice their mistakes but don't feel bad about them, because mistakes are part of this language construction. I prepare a PowerPoint presentation with pronunciation tips (and accents), introduction to phonetic symbols (Portuguese phonetic tips) and the sounds of Brazilian Portuguese, isolated vocabularies and then small everyday phrases using such vocabulary, idioms, cultural curiosities and small doses of grammar when necessary. The student will be monitored during the class and I will always be attentive to corrections and improvements.Minhas aulas e estilo de ensino
1- Students from scratch: A FREE book in PDF that is made available to the student (one chapter for each scheduled lesson / class). ELEMENTARY and INTERMEDIATE students receive a Power Point slid of the lesson e/ Book PDF with vocabularies, verbs, expressions, phonetics and gravar topics.
Vocabularies are accompanied by phonetic transcriptions that will guide students in the perfect pronunciation of words. The teacher will personally teach you in extra supplementary YouTube videos how to use them. The content of each lesson studied will be used in future lessons. I could not ask for a better Portuguese teacher! After each lesson with Alyson, I feel encouraged and motivated to continue studying Portuguese. He structures his lessons very effectively. Each lesson, I gain a lot about practical vocabulary, pronunciation tips, and cultural information. Alyson is very good at explaining more difficult topics in the language. He is also a very warm person.
After a few lessons with Alyson, I already feel more confident speaking Portuguese, especially because Alyson has helped me improve my pronunciation and accent. Whether you're a beginner or advanced speaker of Portuguese, I highly recommend Alyson!

On the personal level, Alyson is really really friendly, has amazing vibes, good energies, and fun to talk with!
Professionally, his explanations were very detailed and clear, while paying attention to the subtleties and making sure you get them clearly, which is amazing.
In addition, he puts emphasis on making the lesson customized to your specific needs.
