Ly is a skillful teacher. After a few month I can have some basic conversations in Vietnamese. I recommend learning the language with her. She has her own language course. Each lesson covers pronunciation, hearing, grammar, all important stuff. After each class Ly assigns homework.

Wow another amazing class with Em Ly. I am so impressed with her teaching style, materials and examples she uses for her classes. Vietnamese is spoken for the majority of class to help reinforce and encourage speaking. She is very detailed and teaches proper pronunciation. She assigns homework to reinforce the teaching. I continue to improve because of her and would highly recommend her!

I have had a pleasure of working with Ly for 6 months now and I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the progress I've made under Ly's guidance. 1. Ly is such a talented teacher! I can now have simple conversations with native speakers. I worked with a number of Italki teachers, and Ly's teaching stands out. 2. Ly strikes a perfect balance between conversation and textbook during lessons. We begin each class with 20-30 minutes of conversation practice, followed by 30 - 40 minutes of new material focusing on grammar and vocabulary. Ly assigns homework which I find very helpful. 3. The learning materials provided by Ly are exceptional. She has created her own textbook that covers vocabulary, grammar, and exercises in a natural progression. I love the audio recordings which I can come back to later. Ly goes the extra mile to make all lessons enjoyable and I always look forward to them. I strongly recommend committing and booking 2 - 3 hours per week. You'll love to progress!

Vietnamese is a language very easy to read but pronouncing it is very difficult. Ly is often very patient and willing to teach you how to pronounce.

I appreciate that Ly speaks completely in Vietnamese in order to encourage an immersive learning environment and will only use English for vocabulary translations (I can't speak for those starting Vietnamese out completely). Ly will slow down or elaborate if I can't keep up with any explanation. Overall, I would recommend having lessons with Ly!
