How did I become a German teacher? Languages are my great passion and they run like a red thread through my professional career. I attended the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. The lectures were held in three languages, German, English and Italian. During my studies, I did an internship at the “Istituto Linguistico Bertrand Russell” in Padua. In addition to my administrative work, I also had the opportunity to teach German. Initially it was not easy, because being a native speaker is not enough to be able to teach well. I am very lucky because I love my profession. But passion alone is not enough to be a good teacher. You also need didactic, methodical and pedagogical skills. For this reason I decided to attend the distance learning course "DaF Methodik und Didaktik" at the Goethe Institute in June 2019. I successfully passed the final exam. I am convinced that teachers need to be constantly trained, too. So they are able to offer their students the best teaching performance. It is important to deal with your environment, build relationships, communicate appropriately and listen carefully to the students. Apart from the professional competence, the social aspect is also essential. A relaxed learning atmosphere is necessary in order to encourage the students to lead a conversation in the foreign language without any fear. Julia ist eine hervorragende Lehrerin, die immer kluge Einfälle hat, wie man beim Deutschlernen Spaß haben kann. Ich freue mich jede Woche auf meine Lernstunde mit ihr. Zu Beginn unterhalten wir uns meist darüber, was bei uns oder in der Welt in der vergangen Woche passiert ist. Dann lesen oder hören wir etwas gemeinsam und diskutieren ein bisschen darüber, oder wir korrigieren meine Hausaufgaben. Besonders wichtig ist: Es macht immer Spaß, und ich lerne immer sehr viel. Ich merke, wie sich mein Deutsch kontinuierlich verbessert. Mit ihrer Hilfe habe ich bereits die Goethe-B2-Prüfung bestanden und bereite mich derzeit auf die C1 vor. Wenn Sie eine besonders gute Deutschlehrerin suchen, kann ich Ihnen Julia wärmstens empfehlen.

Julia is an excellent teacher! I ask a lot of questions and she is very patient with me and my not-great grasp of grammar in general, and helps me learn new concepts through repetition, drawings, and practical applications. Each lesson she mixes in grammar, speaking, and vocabulary practice, and when I mention I struggle with a concept (for example I'm not great with numbers), she will focus extra on that area until I've understood. She's also extremely patient with my chaotic work and travel schedule, which I really appreciate!

Es macht mir immer Spaß, mit Julia Deutsch zu lernen. Sie ist sehr persönlich und freundlich, aber auch professionell. Zusammen führen wir immer anregende Gespräche über die verschiedensten Themen.
