I live in the Yorkshire Dales, UK and enjoy spending my time motorbiking, mountain biking and walking my dog in the countryside. I was brought up in Manchester and I also lived in London for many years. I love listening to music, I play keyboards, synth and also a little guitar. In terms of sport, I am a second degree black belt in taekwondo and used to teach as a club instructor. As regards my career, I retired as a senior officer from the British Police Service two years ago and now it is my pleasure to spend time teaching English. I also teach part-time in UK Policing. In my spare time I learn languages, principally French and I love to travel. I have a bachelor degree in Modern Language Studies BA (Hons), a UK City & Guilds award in Education and Training (teaching theory and practice), a TEFL Level 5 certificate and an online language training qualification. I have now also gained 2 years experience of teaching English as a Foreign Language. In my career I received training as a 'Life Coach' and this has also enabled me to help many students with interview techniques, business English and their own personal development in life. My personal style is relaxed, warm and friendly. To me, it is important to create a comfortable learning environment where my students feel at ease and have the confidence to grow in their ability.
