My name is Annemarie and I currently live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I have around 23 years of general teaching experience as well as 3 years as an Italki Conversational language teacher. My hobbies include hiking, reading and watching good films. I have been married for 48 years and I have two children as well as two grandchildren. I am passionate about my work and it gives me such joy to assist my students to speak English or Afrikaans fluently. I have taught over 1 200 lessons on Italki and still love my work!Minha atuação como professor
I would describe my teaching style as very interactive. I prefer to create a teaching environment that encourages critical thinking and elicits responses from my students rather than having them merely retain and repeat information. I make use of different websites and encourage my students to read to improve both vocabulary and fluency. And then: revise, revise, revise!Minhas aulas e estilo de ensino
My lessons are tailor made to suite the individual needs of my students. My lessons are interactive and inclusive and I take on a conversational approach rather than a lecturing approach. My lessons depend on the interests and goals of my students.
