We have always have interesting conversations and we are working through my beginner level French together little by little. He gives me homework to practice on my weak points, puts vocabulary into a Google docs notebook for me, and shares lesson materials for reviewing. He is extremely patient and understanding. I really appreciate how he gently corrects me when I make mistakes in the moment.

Mao is really patient and given how nervous I am when I speak French, he is encouraging to find my words and does his best to help the conversation flow. I found he is very relaxed and is able to give space for me to try to think through things by myself.

Today's lesson we started with free talk and then based on the conversation, Mao chose a grammar point to work on for the rest of the lesson. He was really quick to pull up his resources and explained the main points simply and efficiently in English. He then checks my understanding of the grammar points with exercises. When I struggled, he was able to give me space to try by myself, encouraged when I succeeded, and supported when I made (many) mistakes... He's very kind and patient.

I have only had a handful of lessons with Mao, but we have been slowly been able to improve my grammar understanding and French speaking. He is really nice and for beginners like me, he is a really encouraging teacher who is always prepared and professional.

Mao often checks in with me during lessons and encourages me. He is really understanding when it comes to the frustration of learning a language. During lesson, he is always focused and trying his best to explain grammar to me and you can see his sincerity. He is always really professional and on time. I have been really enjoying lessons.
